Vista service pack 2 not updating
Whatever the results though I restart and when I try to check for updates again it's the same story again. After the reset I first uninstall a bunch of stupid programs that came with the laptop, then defragment and then tried two different ways of proceeding. Over the years I have made a few factory resets every years.
You might see a notification indicating whether the update was successful. There's currently no antivirus program installed that might be blocking anything.
And again the same thing happens. Sometimes it reports all of them fixed, other times it reports Missing or corrupt files not fixed. You'll receive a message indicating whether the update was successful. This started after a made a factory reset.
The computer might restart several times during the installation. If you disabled your antivirus software, enable it again.
Not sure if it's related though I assume it is but Defender's not able to check for new definitions either. Follow the instructions on the screen. Follow the instructions on your screen.
